So, what will I be doing?

As a Skilled Operator, you'll be joining a friendly team of co-owners who sit at the heart of our operations supporting the production of our widely recognised products at our Blagdon site. You'll undertake a range of tasks, including the handling of product and operation of equipment, ensuring Health & Safety measures are followed, carrying out quality checks and setting machines up for different products.

The ideal candidate will be happy working in a fast-paced production environment and have a ‘can-do’ attitude and strong work ethic. Training will be provided as appropriate, although if you have worked in a food manufacturing or similar industry before, that would be an advantage.  For those looking for a career pathway, there will be opportunities for further training and development.

You will be trained in multiple skills such as:
  • Packing product into trays which are labelled on line
  • Clearing out lines and completing washouts at the end of each production run
  • Setting up the machine for next product
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and hygiene practices
  • Adhering to good Health & Safety practices
  • Carrying out quality checks
  • Booking in pallets of finished product using a scanner
  • Organising the work area, ensuring all tasks are rotated
  • Temperature checking chilled product, ensuring all the cases are the correct amount and the temperatures are to specification
  • Use of Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE).
There's more too - in return for your hard work you'll receive a competitive salary, a generous pension fund that requires no deduction from your wages, free parking, lockers, a canteen on site, life assurance, an enhanced overtime rate and more!

These are varied, physically active roles, covering a 12 hour shift, (6:00am until 6:00pm), 4 days on, 4 days off rolling shift pattern.
