The Inside Scoop - Operations
We caught up with Michelle, Dairy Operative at our Cannington site, about what it's like to work at Yeo Valley.

How long have you worked for Yeo Valley?

15 years

What do you enjoy about working here?

I like all of the different jobs and then the sense of achievement when hitting the targets set for the day. I like working with lots of different people, getting to know them and their background.

What does a typical day look like for you?

It changes on a day to day basis as I move around different departments in the factory. One day I could be working on a small Hitpak machine packing small pots of yogurt and the next I could be in the Nutpod (our special secure area separate to the main factory where we use nut products). I love that I get to work with and get to know so many different people.

What makes Yeo Valley different to anywhere you’ve worked before?

Yeo Valley are very caring and do a lot for us, this has been even more noticeable during the Covid-19 pandemic; I feel much safer coming to work than going into a supermarket. I am also very interested in the products we produce and the product life-cycle, from the farms all the way through to the fridge.

If you were a Yeo Valley yogurt flavour, which one would you be and why?

Banana and custard! I love everything about a banana, love the smell of the factory when making it.
