So, what will I be doing?

As Chef de Partie, you're integral to our Catering team at our Production Site in Blagdon, responsible for delivering a well balanced, quality food provision and service excellence at all times. Working alongside our existing Chef, you'll be a whizz in the kitchen - not only helping prepare and deliver all catering requirements for Yeo Valley staff using the canteen daily, but also ensuring consistency and cost efficiencies where possible.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and delivering all catering requirements including breakfast, lunch, snacks, cakes and desserts
  • Providing corporate hospitality where required, using fresh ingredients 
  • Assisting with coaching and developing the catering team to deliver excellence; leading by example
  • Ensuring all procedures and compliance logs are completed in line with site requirements
  • Contributing to menu development, delivery and developing the effectiveness of the catering operation
  • Supporting the provision of catering for our night shift employees pre-order service
Hours: 40 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days. No evenings! Shifts between 06:00 and 17:00.
 

Sounds interesting, what do I need?

  • The important things:
  • Experience working as a Chef (ideally minimum of 2 years')
  • Qualified to a minimum of Food Hygiene Level 2/ Foundation in Health & Safety/Food allergen awareness
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation and culinary techniques
  • Demonstrable knowledge of food safety and compliance within a catering or food manufacturing setting
Even better if you have: 
  • A background in working in onsite canteens
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and provide guidance to our wider team of Catering professionals
  • Great customer service skills and positive attitude
