So, what will I be doing?

Our friendly and dedicated Engineering team at Yeo Valley Crewkerne are looking for Skilled and Multi-Skilled Engineers to expand our team. You will be an experienced qualified engineer with a love for great food and looking to grow your career in at a fantastic food manufacturing site.
 
It is a great time to join the family at Yeo Valley Crewkerne, with expansion projects taking place to increase the output of the site and to improve the facilities over the next 12 months. Projects and initiatives that you will be directly involved in. 
 
You'll be leading on, or heavily involved in any situation where people safety, business integrity, environmental impact or plant or assets may be adversely affected. You'll be an important part of the production process, responsible for the smooth operation of machinery and ensuring that production can be carried out in the most effective and efficient way. We’re on a journey, aspiring to become a truly world class Engineering team and your involvement will be integral in making it happen.  
 
The shift pattern for this role is 4 on 4 off, alternating between 4 days and 4 nights. Shifts are between 6 and 6 each day. 
 
Responsibilities include:
  •    Using problem solving techniques to prevent, detect and eliminate faults, abnormalities and inefficiencies. 
  •     Proactive in the development and enhancement of kit and equipment performance and reliability.
  •     Demonstrable experience of RCM, CBM, FMEA, Siemens & Allen Bradley PLC knowledge.
  •     Providing specialist knowledge and insight for new and current technologies whilst developing the knowledge in colleagues and wider teams.
  •     Delivering high standards of asset care through the application of best practice, developed knowledge and technical expertise.
  •     Driving continuous improvements to support sustainable operational performance.
  •     Management of site assets through effective use and interaction with the site CMMS, stores and administration functions to deliver Planned and Unplanned activities in a safe and timely manner.
  •     Ensure the safe working practices of all staff, contractors and visitors in line with company policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
  •     Maintain effective communication including timely escalation of appropriate information with department and site management teams.
  •     Actively participate in department and cross functional activity to deliver performance against set KPI targets to ensure all aspects of engineering are effective with clear actions and focused ownership to control and correct to root cause in a timely manner.#
 
We have 2 Skilled and 2 Multi-Skilled positions available.

Sounds interesting, what do I need?

Essential:

  • Apprenticeship or equivalent level of training in a single or multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrable capability and application of engineering knowledge in applied skills
  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Proactive approach to asset care
  • Logical approach to fault finding 
 Desirable:
  • Developed knowledge and application of RCM
  • Advanced Fault finding techniques
  • Developed knowledge of Condition Based Monitoring
  • Best Practice in asset care
