As the Data Engineering and BI Lead, you will be leading a small team to deliver the platforms and tools to enable decision-relevant insights. You will be instrumental in shaping the BI roadmap journey and related technologies as we move from on-prem SSAS technologies into cloud-based options, utilising Power BI as our current visualisation tool.
Working closely with all areas of the business including manufacturing, procurement, planning and finance, you will be responsible for empowering the business with reliable and accessible data. You will also be part of the IT Leadership Team, influencing the overall company IT Strategy.

This is a permanent role based in Highbridge in brand new spacious offices (decorated with a local twist!), only half an hour from Bristol and just off of the M5 Jn 22. The role will have opportunities for a mixture of on-site and working from home options, plus there is a great staff canteen!
Your responsibilities:

- To oversee and lead the design and implementation of ETL/ELT processes to ingest data from new ERP system into Snowflake
- To architect and develop the Snowflake data warehouse to support reporting and analytics needs, incorporating existing SQL-Server based business logic, whilst optimising the warehouse structure for performance, scalability, and ease of use
- To ensure that you and the BI and Data team work closely and collaboratively with business users to understand, qualify, design, build test, and deliver their requirements
- To work in collaboration with and oversee third-party providers to ensure that technologies and services are both cost-effective and optimized for the organization, while ensuring that providers adhere to established Service Level Agreements.
- To provide direction for how Yeo Valley are moving, transforming, storing, and retrieving data to enable the most efficient and effective use of technology for the business
- To design, implement, and manage the BI infrastructure and services, as well as deliver business data insights requirement in alignment to the IT strategy and roadmap
- To act as subject matter expert on all aspects of data analytics, data modelling and warehousing, data mining, and presentation with a view to support future relevant projects and initiatives
- To ensure that BI service runs smoothly, including to act as a point of escalation for the Support and Technical teams, to monitor and resolve issues
- To work with senior stakeholders and programme boards to deliver company KPI reporting
